Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) has taken the renovation industry by storm, and for good reason. It is incredibly durable, highly water-resistant (and often 100% waterproof), and mimics the look of real hardwood remarkably well.

Best For: Basements, kitchens, bathrooms, and homes with pets or young children.

Pros: Affordable, scratch-resistant, easy to clean, and softer underfoot than tile or hardwood.

Cons: While high-end LVP looks great, it will never perfectly replicate the authentic feel and resale value boost of genuine hardwood.

2. Engineered Hardwood

Because of the Okanagan’s fluctuating humidity levels between summer and winter, solid hardwood can sometimes warp or gap. Engineered hardwood solves this problem. It consists of a real wood veneer layered over a high-quality plywood core, making it much more dimensionally stable than solid wood.
